Hula
Join our own Kumu Leia for a session of hula.
Kumu Leia Lawrence has been teaching hula since 2011 and has been our kumu at WCS since 2014. Leia is also the Vice President of our WCS Board of Trustees. Her warm heart fills our school with aloha!
All ages, genders, and experience welcome to participate in this fun and informative class.

‘Ukulele
Waimea’s own Dagan Bernstein brings his love for the music of Hawai’i with this ‘ukulele class. Learn the basics, join the kanikapila, and have some fun with music. Open to all music enthusiasts! No experience necessary.
We will have school ‘ukulele on hand for you to use or bring your own.

Watercolor
Local Artist Camille Ackerman will lead the participants in this class through the steps of painting a native Hawaiian bird with watercolor.
No prior experience needed.

Lei-making
Ashtin Hart, longtime member of Hālau o Kukui Aloha o Kohala led by Kumu Leia, leads this Master Class to teach some basics of making lei. Each participant will leave the class with a lei of their creation.

Dance!
Come heat up the dance floor at the Malama Na Keiki Benefit. Learn the basics of Salsa, some fun flare, maybe even a dip. We can dance the night away!
WCS Parents Sina and Mark Ebersole are your ballroom dance instructors.
No experience necessary. Singles or couples are welcome.

Crochet & Knitting
Always wanted to try but never got started? Now is your chance to learn from our experienced, patient, professional WCS teachers, Kendra Powers (knitting) and Hannah Ediss (crocheting). It will be your choice during the class.
No experience necessary.
Supplies provided by WCS, including knitting needles and crochet hooks, which participants can keep to finish up what they start during the Master Class.

Stargazing
We live in one of the best places in the world for gazing at the heavens.
WCS Trustee and Keck Astronomer Randy Campbell leads this Master Class about stars and other objects in our night sky.
While the class takes place prior to sunset, Randy will be on hand throughout the evening to point his students in the right direction when the stars emerge. A telescope will be set up on-site, weather permitting.
