Early release day Bring a potluck dish to share, as well as plates, utensils, napkins, and water bottles for your family. Share lunch with our ‘ohana — welcome back friends and meet new members.
WCS ’ohana work together to maintain, beautify, and enjoy our school garden. Students rotate through a variety of tasks, working in mixed-age groups. Families join in, working side-by-side with students. The WCS Parent Association provides a healthy fruit treat at the end of the event.
This day is devoted to literacy and is kicked off with an all-school Vocabulary Parade. Each student, faculty, and staff member chooses a vocabulary word to personify. Early release day We invite our students’ grandparents, extended families, and special friends to join children in class for about an hour before lunch. Children and guests enjoy a brown bag lunch (this is NOT a potluck) before being dismissed for the day and for Spring Break.
Join us for our Waimea Country School Spring Plant Sale. Herbs, flowers, vegetable starts, landscaping plants... something for everyone! All proceeds directly support the WCS school garden: Na keiki aloha 'aina. The WCS Parent Association hosts a Garden Market at the Plant Sale with homemade treats and gifts, crafts, and more. Early release day Show on lanai stage in the backyard, with an ‘ohana potluck immediately afterward. Parents are asked to help with decorating the stage and setting up for the show, both the day before and the morning of the performance. This is an all-’ohana event held in the afternoon on the lanai stage in the backyard. Each graduate speaks about his or her experience at the school, and all classes are involved in this ceremony. All share a graduation cake at end of event, before dismissal.
Casual event, just hanging out on the beach with our friends, with no presentation or ceremony. The whole family is welcome! All children must be accompanied by their family or arranged to be chaperoned.
